What kind of astrology reading do YOU want?

I love and respect my colleagues in the astrological community. After careful deliberation, I’ve discerned to work in my own unique manner with clients - which admittedly is different than my colleagues.

My teacher and mentor Demetra George has a joke - each chart is between 20-30 hours of conversation. So I want to give some agency to you as the client in how we choose to structure a reading, or a series of readings, and the level of depth we can achieve within two hours.

Bottom line — it is not possible to do full justice to all the insights we can glean from the Babylonian, Egyptian, Hellenistic, Roman, Persian, Medieval, Renaissance, Modern, and Contemporary layers of astrological techniques and poetic metaphors in 2 hours.

Some clients approach me with a particular question and we work from there. Other clients book me for a series of readings to achieve a deeper understanding of each planet and angles in their chart.

I like working with clients over multiple sessions because we can build a therapeutic alliance - and the more I get to know your story - the more powerful the astrological readings can be.

From the bailiwick of ancient astrology, I draw upon a comprehensive and exhaustive list of considerations that reflects the cutting edge of work by Demetra George and Chris Brennan - Circumambulations by the Bounds, Ascensional Risings of the Signs and the Perfection of Aspects, Zodiacal Releasing from all 7 Lots - Fortune, Spirit, Eros, Courage, Victory, and Nemesis, as well as the advanced intersectional approach of Hephaestion of Thebes between the solar return and profections from the ascendant and sect light.

Drawing from the ancient canon, but with less mathematical precision, we will also consider insights on phases of life that can be gleaned from the status of planets as Morning or Evening stars, as well as a detailed consideration of your fixed star parans - which reveal which fixed starts preside over your phases of life. Here I am drawing on the work of Bernadette Brady and Christian Konig.

From the bailiwick of modern astrology, I draw upon my extensive studies with Liz Greene, Lynn Bell, and the entire Faculty of Astrological Studies in the UK to give you a forecast with the cutting edge of modern astrological techniques and the depth of psychological astrology.

Regarding the solar return,. I regularly utilize Lynn’s Bell’s longer list of advanced considerations - including the elemental rhythm of the moon, the angularity of planets, activations of natal planets, as well as aspect patterns within the solar return chart.

The forecast also considers all the other planetary returns - the annual Mercury and Venus Return, if applicable, the bi-annual Mars Return, the Nodal Return of 18, 36, 54 and 72, the Jupiter Return of 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 and 84, the Saturn Return of 30, 60 and 90, and even Uranus Return of 84.

This forecast will push deeper into the territory of modern astrology with advanced analyses of outer planet aspects, if one is within orb for the year ahead.

Sometimes these are called the midlife transits but significant outer planet aspects can apply to all phases of life. Our teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, etc are shaped by phenomena such as the Saturn Squares at approximately 7, 22, 37, 51, 66 and 81, as well as Saturn Oppositions at 18, 44 and 74. There are the nodal oppositions at 9, 27, 45, 63, and 81. There is the Uranus opposition at 42. There is the neptune square at 40-44, and the neptune opposition at 82 or 83. There is the Pluto Square at 36 - 43 (depending on your chart).

Additionally, we will look at the movements of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto over the next year, through the signs and houses in the chart, with a particular emphasis on the inflection points of major transits to planets and and angles in the chart.

I fold Eclipses and the transiting note into the forecast in a detailed way. There is a lot more that can be said and done with the dragon energy of the eclipses than to simply advise folks to eschew manifestation. A segment of the forecast reading will be devoted to working constructively with the backward motions over the course of the year, so that you can prepare proactively for the stimulus of the upcoming eclipses, and integrate the story of the transiting nodes of the next year.

Finally, the reading will consider secondary progressions. We will look in a detailed way at the progressed moon, sun, mercury, venus, mars, jupiter, saturn and outer planets. What major shift is occurring in the next year.

This may seem like a lot of detail. But, I will make it accessible, clear and not overwhelming. After a fastidious review of the year ahead through both ancient and modern lens, I will give you the big hits and top headlines, listen to your story, and help you work through the guidance the stars can offer you about this particular crossroads.

Danny is a pillar of the astrology community in New York City. He studied modern astrology with Annabel Gat and John Marchesella. He serves as a fellow of the New York NCGR chapter and teaches classes as part of its faculty. He organizes the largest monthly gathering of Astrologers in New York – the Big Apple Astrology Meetup at the New York Theosophical Society, which he inherited from the late Kirk Kahn. Danny is certified at the first level by NCGR-PAA.Danny Larkin is the Vice President of the International Association of Astral Magic (IAAM).

Danny is deeply connected with the revival of Hellenistic and traditional astrology. He attended Demetra George’s inaugural retreats in Hellenistic Astrology in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Danny is Irish-American. In 2022, he traveled to Ireland with his brother Sean. As brothers, they underwent an initiation into the celtic path with Ireland’s most prominent living druid – Ard Druí Con Connor – in the bogs of Roscommon – the county of their ancestral Larkin roots.
